It’s the time of year for holiday cheer and shopping for gifts. Finding that gift can be a collaboration between you and the children by working together to create crafty gifts. Creating such opportunities does not take a craft-centric mind, just a few instructions. Here are a few ideas for holiday crafts. Mail increases just after Thanksgiving with a plethora of gifts and cards being sent to love ones near and far. Cards can be store bought, but also home made. This can be as simple as using colored construction paper, crayons and a bit of imagination. It often helps to have inspiration of the season around — books, movies or music. Brainstorm about things that are iconic to the holiday before getting started. Kids can go to the store and choose stickers with sayings, blank greeting cards to use as a base and stamps. For younger children, you may need to write the words for them, but they can do the artwork. Jewelry is a gift girls enjoy receiving and little girls like to make. At Beading Frenzy in San Mateo, kids can choose their own beads. Children seem to gravitate to one of the color-coded areas, said Jamie
